Forsyth County, NC - Building and Improving the Tax Collection Process
Forsyth County faces the same problem every US County faces. How do you track and collect taxes for the numerous residential and commercial properties in their jurisdiction? A great collection system automates the billing and collection of tax bills. In addition, it will enforce the taxing power of the County by automating wage garnishments. The cashiering function will apply payments to bills and interface with accounting systems. Forsyth County partnered with Core Techs to create a next generation collection system that produced a 98% collection rate. One of the highest rates in North Carolina.
What We Did
Core Techs worked closely with Forsyth County Tax Department to deliver a system that delivered their vision of a next generation Tax Collection System. Core Techs decided to build the application with Windows Forms and take an agile approach with short iterations allowing for a flexible developmental process and a constant, visible progression of the project.

GOODWILL OF NWNC - AUTOMATING HR
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is a private, nonprofit organization that has been serving the community since 1926. Through workforce development programs, Goodwill helps individuals develop the skills they need for today's job market. Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC had a paper based employee review process. The process was labor intensive and inefficient. Goodwill had a need to create a web based review system that address the complexities of their workforce.
WHAT WE DID
CoreTechs worked closely with Goodwill IT and HR staff to deliver a system that delivered their vision of an automated employee review system. Core Techs decided to build the application with Silverlight and custom built workflow engine. Core Techs took an agile approach with short iterations allowing for a flexible developmental process and a constant, visible progression of the project.

The Results
Core Techs engineers took a highly complex process and created a system that propelled S&N into a new line of business. Core Techs expertise and attention to detail produced a system that processed over 5000 locates a day. Core Techs worked closely with S&N project stakeholders to deliver a Locating System that gives S&N an advantage when going after new business. With their own Locating System, S&N is now positioned to take on more regions and diverse types of utility locating.
S&N Communications - Building the ultimate locate system
Established in 1977, S&N Communications, Inc. has become recognized throughout the mid-Atlantic and Southeast as reliable and cost effective telecommunications and coaxial cable infrastructure providers. S&N desired to created a system that could accept and process orders for underground cable locating.
What We Did
Core Techs worked closely with S&N Communications project stakeholders to deliver a map based locate order system. Core Techs decided to build the application with Silverlight and Google Maps API and a custom built map sketch tool. Core Techs engineers took an agile approach with short iterations allowing for a flexible developmental process and a constant, visible progression of the project.
